Hello all!

Are you enjoying the wonderful weather like I am?  This week it is
going to be very hot, 30 degrees Celcius at the end of the week.
It’s great that summer has started, it’s not so nice that the airco at work is not working properly. It’s hot inside, I guess there is only one thing that I can do about it. Adjust my work tempo ;-)

We love to  sit outside in the evenings, enjoying our garden and a glass of wine ;-) That is the reason why I haven’t been very active on the computer lately.

Ahrweiler

Last Saturday we visited the town of Ahrweiler in Germany, about 125 km from my home.

Ahrweiler is located at the banks of the river Ahr. It is a charming and romantic town with half timbered old houses, a midievel town walls and moat. The town is surrounded by hills used for growing vines. The area is well known for it’s wines.

Unfortunately it took us 3 hours to get there, due to road works. It rained almost all the time during those 3 hours, but it was nice and dry weather when we were there.

Make over!

I bought this litte closet over 5 years ago.

It was dark wood! Ifinally got around painting it last year.
I thought it looked a bit bland! So I decided I would put some wallpaper on the back. I looked for nice wallpaper with roses.
But I didn’t find any at a reasonable price.

After I did the Flow blog I realised I could use the PIP Studio wrapping paper.

Atlanta Bartlett

First of all I would like to stress that I have NO plans to delete this blog. The blog Tumblr is just another way to express myself. To show you a little bit more about me and the things that interest me. It is a very easy and straightforward way to blog. I find something that interests me I have a blog ready in a few minutes.

I have added a widget on the left bar to show you my latest posts on Tumblr. Just click on the widget and another window will open with the Tumblr blog.

You can see that my latest blog there is about Atlanta Bartlett. Do you know her?  She writes the most gorgeous books about interiour decoration with photo’s made by Polly Wreford. She released a book in April, Easy Elegance. I put it on my wishlist. I already own her previous books At Home with White (in Dutch) and The relaxed home (compact version).

I will show you this pic as a teaser. Go visit Atlanta’s site, she has a portfolio there.

Take care,

PS I got really annoyed by Internet Explorer 8 and removed it. It was sooooo slow. It displayed Blogger blogs only half  and sometimes not at all. I am really considering buying an Apple computer next time I need a new one.

Tumblarity

I love blogging, even though I sometimes lack inspiration. This lack of inspiration is also fed by the thought that my posts should be “blog related”.  So I can’t blog about the latest movie I’ve seen, or a the nice bag I bought. I recently found found Tumblr, another platform for blogging. It is very straight forward, without the “frills” of Blogspot. I decided to start a blog there. About anything that comes to mind…. (ofcause within certain boundaries LOL).

If you are interested, come visit me there. And don’t forget to leave a comment when you do (you don’t need to register, just don’t forget to mention your name).

There is also an RSS feed if you would like to keep track.

Oh yes, tumblarity measures how much you are active on your Tumblr blog.

Have a nice weekend!

Take care,

PS If you are using Internet Explorer 8 you might have a problem reading my blog or any other Blogger blog. It is something Blogger is looking into.

Botanic Garden Amsterdam

Last Saturday we visited the Botanic Garden of Amsterdam. The garden has a wide variety of plants and trees from all over the world. Outside, but also in green houses.

The garden also has a butterfly house with tropical butterflies. It was an amazing sight, those delicate creatures flying around me. Landing on the plants and flowers and waiting patiently for me to take a photo.

On this last photo are the typical canal houses.

After we visited the garden we walked down the  Kalverstraat, the high street. I have to admitt there was nothing for me there. I do like shopping, but the shops which are on the high street can be found anywhere in the Netherlands. A long time ago there was Marcs & Spencers there, a bit of England in Amsterdam. Too bad they left.

Next time we will visit the fleamarket on Waterlooplein or the Jordaan.

If you enjoyed the photo’s, you can see more on my Flickr account.

Have a nice week.

In my previous post I told you I use the ephemera for journaling.
This is a little peak at my first attempt. It is a fun thing to do.

Mergelland juni 2009

Last Monday we made a trip in the area. The weather was gorgeous, so was the view.

Next Saturday we are going to visit Amsterdam. We intend to visit the botanic gardens (Hortus Botanicus) and maybe do some shopping. I haven’t been to the capital city for a long time.

Have a nice weekend!

Take care,
